WhatsApp on iOS becomes free
New Delhi: WhatsApp, instant cross-platform mobile messaging application, has finally gone free on iOS. WhatsApp used to cost USD 0.99 on iOS, which also made it among the all-time top 10 revenue grossing apps on the App Store.
This move hasn't been a surprise, says WhatsApp CEO Jan Koum adding that this is undoubtedly an attempt to widen the potential audience for the cross-platform mobile messaging application.
The mobile messaging service was always free on Android and Windows Phone versions.
WhatsApp is undoubtedly an extremely popular messaging service. Despite growing competition in the mobile messaging space, the application has maintained its leadership, claiming over 250 million monthly active users with more than 27 billion messages processed in a single day.
